Free wallpaper: still life with fog
Sep. 14th, 2003 01:10 pmSome 1024 x 768 scenery for you, from last weekend's jaunt to the wild and foggy Washington coast...

I can't tell you how happy I am that fall seems to have arrived here already, when going by the calendar it is still technically summer. Rock on!
In other news,
radiofreecarbon and I went CD shopping for the first time in perhaps a year, yesterday. Came up with:
Doves: Lost Souls
The Frames: For the Birds
Matt Pond PA: The Nature of Maps
Matt Pond PA: The Green Fury
Preston School of Industry: All This Sounds Gas
(I will leave it to
radiofreecarbon to explain, if he wants to, why "Preston School of Industry" is an amusing and significant band name.)
All very pleasant so far.
ten_fifteen and
alltimeqb will be pleased to know that we picked up the two Matt Pond PA CD's independently of each other: in my browsing I grabbed one, and in his browsing Steve grabbed the other. When we regrouped to compare findings, we discovered this coincidence. Heh. We're such alterna-dorks.

Date: 2003-09-14 04:24 pm (UTC)Weakerthans seem catchy; I'll put them on the list too. The name seems familiar. I'm thinking KEXP here plays them sometimes...

Date: 2003-09-14 02:22 pm (UTC)I lived in the PNW for two decades. Now I'm in the midwest. Little reminders of the beauty of home like this are always very, very welcome. You just made my afternoon a little more pleasant. *hugs*

I pretty much only went to a "paid" account so that I could have 10 icons. :)

Date: 2003-09-15 05:43 pm (UTC)Glad you like the pics. I thought of Lothlorien and the Shire a bit, while I was there and while viewing the pics afterward, but didn't want to mention it for fear of raising my visible geekhood to dangerous levels. :)

Date: 2003-09-15 08:24 pm (UTC)Also gave me a real tug for the northwest. I'm hoping to be there for a few days next month. Friend is staying on Whidbey Island.

Date: 2003-09-16 08:39 pm (UTC)Whidbey in October? Cool. You'd be in a fine position to see our rare drizzly season. (Lasts only nine months! Hurry!) :) Would probably look similar to those photos, though, in any case.
