An email from the LJ turns 10 moderator person...

Dear Esteemed LJer,
As you may have heard, Live Journal is turning 10 next month—and one of the ways we’re celebrating is by publishing a beautiful anthology that will highlight 100 favorite journals and communities from over the past decade.

That’s why we’re writing: your LJ is on our shortlist for possible inclusion in the book! Congratulations! If your entry makes the final cut, you’ll receive a $20 LJ gift certificate—not to mention that you’ll have one of your LJ entries highlighted and preserved for all time in the Live Journal 10th Anniversary Anthology.

The entry we’re considering is:

(etc.)

Cool! And it wasn't even one of my parodies. Heh.

----
As a sidenote, ZOMG I'M ON AMAZON!1!!1! AND BARNES&NOBLE!!!

Ahem. I'll announce that more coherently tomorrow, perhaps.

That is sooooo cool! :-) That is an awesome post, too. So very true, heehee. I was amazed to find that I had commented on it, with one of my old journals. My, we have known one another a long time on here! :-)

EEEEE! Booooook! *twirls you around* It was so exciting to log onto both Barnes & Noble and Amazon (and yep, I did just that) to see your name and your book on display. I cannot wait to read it! Congrats, dearie. :-)

Thank you! I couldn't have made a wiser decision than friending you. :D You're just the world's sweetest and most positive LJ'er--and fangirl of course.

very cool! i like that entry. did someone nonmate that or did the "LJ people" pick it?

Date: 2009-03-15 04:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mollyringle.livejournal.com
Thanks! Both, basically. Someone nominated it, then the LJ moderators went thru the nominations and picked a bunch, I guess.

Congratulations on both! I just ordered my copy from Amazon.

You mean you're not going to go all JKR and sue them for letting a volume out of the shop ahead of schedule? Even after I tell everyone that Snape kills Dumbledore, Jaye Davidson's character is really a man, Darth Vader is Luke's father, and Rosebud was a sled?

Oops...I knew I was doing this professional-writer thing all wrong. I also better get ready to sue fanfic writers, huh? (The things I learn from reading your articles...) :)

YAYE! Congrats on the Amazon & B&N listings (and for the review you've gotten so far on B&N)! I'm looking very forward to reading this.

And congrats, too, on the LJ shoutout. I think. ;-)

How're you feeling these days (other than justifiably elated)?

Date: 2009-03-15 04:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mollyringle.livejournal.com
Hee, thanks! The B&N review was from one of my fellow writers who critiqued the novel on a workshop site. Then the other Amazon one is from my sister, of course. But she's a writer too, so maybe that's still worth something. :D

I feel good pregnancy-wise. Sore joints and feet, frequently, but that's about it, and that's WAY better than tired and sick like in the first trimester.

I've heard the tired part goes away after they go off to college.

Yeah, but they could always show up unexpectedly then to do laundry. So you still have to be on your guard.

Heh. True story: During my first two years of college I had a roommate I'll call Jim. We lived in a fairly large dorm building with a laundry room on the second floor. One day, in the middle of the *second year*, Jim turned to me and said "Naill... Where's the laundry room?"

*snerkle*

I hope his ignorance sprang from taking laundry home, rather than just not doing it for whole terms at a time.

Is your book on Teh Amazons yet? I remember some publishing talk going on.

It'll be coming out in early 2010, so I expect an amazon link sometime this fall. Wish me luck!

Sweet--good luck! And jeez, could the publishing world be any slower? *Evolution* is faster. (In, like, bacteria anyway.)

Of course, I'm partial to this entry, myself. I read that one and just had to friend you. :)
