It is rare that the weather page I've bookmarked makes me laugh out loud. Since these things change frequently, I'll copy and highlight the relevant bit for you:

Tropical Weather:
East Pacific: Tropical Storm Otis
Western Pacific: Super Typhoon Longwang
Central Pacific: Tropical Depression Kenneth

Jokes this has already inspired in this household in the last five minutes:

"Typhoon Longwang thrusts into the islands."
"Expect a large surge with this storm."
"Longwang has his way with eastern Pacific."
"The little blue pill to treat your tropical depression..."

Go ahead; join in.

(I do apologize for anyone actually in the path of this storm. But really, the name.)

Dude, I just peeked at my wunderground.com page, too! XD

I have no jokes, though. I suck. *hangs head*

"Longwang coming much sooner than anticipated."
"Local nunnery prays for delivery from Longwang."
"Longwang starts out powerful, but goes softer with time."

I don't know if residents of other countries have as much fun with our language as we do with theirs, but over the years, I've enjoyed many a laugh with my husband and his friends who work at a large university. Some of the foreign applicants they've seen over the years (with last names listed first, as is customary): Usuk, Mann; Dishpande, Hans; Wong, Wei; and "Wang" with about every suggestive first name imaginable.

"Guam: Well, I think it might be nice if you visit with the tsunamis and Longwang.
Hawaii: Who?
Guam: The weird tropical storm in Pacific’s room.
Hawaii: I think I have a dance to go to.
Guam: Well that’s okay. Oh can you remember to turn off the stove in 20 minutes?
Hawaii: I can remember lots of things. (Guam leaves the kitchen.) This is the single worst day of my entire life.
Pacific O: What the hell are you bitchin’ about? I gotta sleep under a tropical storm named after a big dork.
Hawaii: Well where am I sleeping?
Pacific O: Sofa city, sweetheart.
(Pacific O puts his headphones back on and goes back to jamming to his music.)

"Longwang's here for five hours, and he's got somebody. I live here my whole life, and I'm like a disease. "

yes. I went there.

Well, a gal's got to look at the wunderground page each evening, to know what to wear the next day. It seldom turns out so entertaining, though. :D

Haha! Great lines, and awesome foreign names. I do hope they have as much fun with foreign languages in other countries, or else they're missing out on some good stupid fun. :) (I was going to say, "Maybe in some other country, Johnson means something obscene," but, oh, wait...)

Hey, if no one else mentioned the Donger, I was going to, so I'm glad you went there.

That's pretty hilarious really.
