Attention! I have just set up a new LJ, which shall be devoted entirely to my LOTR ramblings. That will free up this one for more normal endeavors and solve some of the readership guilt/shame/inadequacy issues I've been feeling lately.

So, if what you crave is LOTR and nothin' but, add mollyringwraith to your friends list. In fact, you can even un-friend me here, if you like, and just friend me there instead. I won't be offended, really. I might not even notice.

Thank you muchly to ten_fifteen, who in a no-nonsense tone of practicality told me to snap out of the apologies and just do this. :)

I've selected 18 entries from the archives of this journal, which I will be posting, at the rate of 2 or 3 a day, onto that journal. Then all my finest LOTR work will be in one place and you won't have to slog through all that nonsense about politics, linguistics, and my daily life in order to find it.

And yes. Slash will be fair game on that journal. ;)

Hehe, I tried getting another journal for my LotR posts, but I haven't really used it. If people want to be on my friends list, they can damn well suffer through hobbit ramblings! :D Really, I think you should write what you want in your journal. It's not for others to decide. If they're that offended, they should keep scrolling. You know I'm not really a fan of slash (well...dudeslash, at least), but I still think your journal is fine the way it is...was...whatever. Sometimes I don't agree with what you write, but you have every right to write it!

Thank you for the vote of confidence. :) I agree, for the most part - I've resisted getting a separate journal this long because I figured people who friended me had to take the whole package, not just the stuff they liked. But I think in some ways I feel better putting things into their separate compartments. There are people who friended me just for LOTR, and then there are others (who I talk to rather more often) who don't care about it at all. My readership seemed so divided, I figured I might as well split them up.

Still, I could see the LOTR journal shriveling up and drying out after a few months - after ROTK has come and gone, perhaps. Even if that happens, though, it's still good to have collected all the "best of" posts into one tidy place. Makes it a lot easier to navigate!
