This is cool - a site where you can play 20 Questions against a computer. And the computer does a pretty darn good job of guessing what you're thinking of, based on your answers. Go try to confuse it by thinking of "wombat" or something. Cheers to [livejournal.com profile] trilliah for linking that.

And this, this is just hilarious. I was thinking, while reading Harry Potter #5, that if I had some spare time I should catalog all the lines that sounded smutty if you took them out of context, much as I did with the 'Fellowship' and 'Two Towers' films. Well, I don't have to - other readers have done it for us, and, oh my, there are so many good ones. I can't decide what my favorite is. Some contenders:

"He was on all fours again on Snape's office floor." (536)

"Yeah, Montague tried to do us during break," said George.
"What do you mean, 'tried'?" said Ron quickly. (627)

"One more lesson like that and I might just do a Weasley." (676)

"Harry's heart began to pump very fast indeed. Defence against external penetration?" (458)

You see my dilemma.
Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ten_fifteen for unearthing that gem.

Ehee, I kept noticing so many dodgy bits with the occlumency lessons while I was reading.. The 'On all fours' amused me endlessly, as well as the bit where Draco bursts in on them, and acts all uncomfortable and apologetic. -Cackles-

That 20 questions thing is great. It informs me that cufflinks taste good with butter.

oh, that was GREAT!! Kudos for linking that!

...and it's even funnier if one hasn't read the book, like me! XD

As for the 20 questions ... it got hung up on hobbit, too. LOL

My personal favorites:

He's having a go at my mother!" Seamus yelled. (218)

"Or any part of your body, really, we're not fussy where we stick this." (343)

"He was on all fours again on Snape's office floor." (536)

"Running to Daddy now, are you? Is his ickle boxing champ frightened of nasty Harry's wand?" (14)

20 Questions site was impressive. It got "filing cabinet" in like 10 guesses. Then I stumped it on "upholstery," but its misses and other guesses were startling - carpeting, pillow case, cushion - of course, it also guessed "an oxymoron," so who knows?

Did you get the one in 'Fellowship' near Old Man Willow?...

"Tom put his mouth to the crack and began singing into it in a low voice. They could not catch the words, but evidently Merry was aroused." (158)

That one wasn't too subtle at all.

I hate to admit it, but I DID notice that one. :)

Also this one:
'All right, I'll tackle Strider by the camp-fire: he's less testy.' - Pippin, in 'The Two Towers'

Horse?

I tried a easy word, horse, on that question thing and it couldn't guess! it guessed racehorse at 20, mustang at 29 and pony at 30. *grin*

The Harry Potter extacts were hilarious, thanx, made my day!

I enjoyed the 20 Questions game.

I stuck with animals. It guessed Echidna in 19, Platypus in 9, but I stumped it with Fennec Fox.

Go Me.
