Think I'll try to see Down With Love this weekend, in other movie news. Not quite ready for the new Matrix yet, since I don't remember the first one well enough and should probably re-watch it first. Also...I'm sorry, but I have to say this:

You know those tie-in commercials where Matrix characters are serving beer and then kicking butt in a cheesy advertising-whore kind of way? I would just like to point out that you will never see hobbits doing that.

The photos were definitely appetizing, but am I the only one agonizing over the fact that they seem to want to ship Arwen off to the undying lands and let Eowyn become queen? Maybe I am just not reading the signals right, or maybe I am just falling for their PR, but this is the one thing that will spoil the whole movie for me beyond redemption!

Ah, they're just making it look that way. They won't stray from the book that much. Arwen's already said "I choose a mortal life," so she'll be staying. And anyway, I remember reading something about the filming of Eowyn and Faramir's wedding, so in any case Aragorn isn't getting her. :)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I saw Miss Piggy doing a Denny's commercial the other day and all I could think of was Damn that media whore of a swine! You'd never see Fozzie Bear or Gonzo sell out to the Man like that. They're staying true to their cred and are keepin' it real. Unlike that little money porker, you won't see them frontin' for a chance to cop a couple of Gs from ole Mr. Money Bags... no way... and man, don't get me started on that James Earl Jones dude...

Just you wait - Viggo will be doing Exxon commercials wearing a shirt that says “Money for Oil and My Chicks for Free”. Sean Astin's future will be pitching insurance policies on TV, a la John Astin, once all this hullabaloo blows over. Your other beloved hobbits will be wishing they had kicked some butt media-whore style...

Hehe...oh, I'm sure the actors are open to being media whores - Viggo especially. I just meant that, as far as I can remember, for the last two films, they haven't done any LOTR-themed commercials for unrelated products, with the actors in character. (There was a car commercial - Kia, I think - involving the car being chased by Ringwraiths, but I don't think those were the actual actors. But I admit it's hard to tell under those robes.) So, chances are they won't for the third film either.

I'm just waiting to be proven wrong, of course. I can see it now: Frodo and Sam reach the top of Mt. Doom, dying of thirst and fatigue, and an eagle swoops in and drops...a bottle of Pepsi.

Treat yourself and go see the Matrix Reloaded...it is dying to be parodised, gurl!!!

I work for an IT company and knowing the industry had me killing myself laughing in the movie at certain points. I can think of one scene that has a great potential for a Lord of the Rings tie-up with the Matrix - several lovely possibilities, which had me crawling laughing. (If Neo only opened ONE more door, I am sure he would have found the nine companions, or Elrond...lol)

Don't worry if what I say sounds like Greek. I know if you see the movie you will know what I am talking about...let me know if/when you've seen it as I would love to hear your opinion!
