So I'm sitting here thinking, "Why don't more people post stuff for me to read?" And then it occurs to me that I should practice what I preach.

We have a bit of a Catch-22 on the black-widow situation: seems that the best way to get rid of them is to go into the garage and sweep 'em out, clean the place up, turn on lights, exist in their space. However, as one might imagine, we don't have a great deal of desire to *go* into a garage where black widows are living. Thus the catch. Or is it a "vicious circle" and not a "catch-22"?

I've decided to re-read the entire LOTR trilogy (or six-book series, to go by Tolkien's original count). Started today. Have barely gotten through Bilbo and Frodo's b-day party, but it's already a little slice of heaven. Calming, charming... great way to escape the nasty simmering Sac Valley life. (As [livejournal.com profile] kenshi said in Zoolander fashion, "That Sacramento Valley, it's so hot right now.") :)

May be ready to post another screenplay on storyxchange.com. I hear that's where the money is. I'll never stop writing novels, but converting them to screenplays is actually fun. I wouldn't even mind converting someone else's novels to screenplays. I would, however, mind living in L.A., so likely my career is limited. Too bad. Living in So. Cal. is definitely a deal-breaker. Put me back in the Northwest! Put...me...back!

Writing novels

I congratulate you for getting an e-book published, it's an achievement that people are actually paying to read your work!

Thank you for visiting my page, I have had a quick look at yours but time is short at the moment so I shall pay a longer visit tomorrow.

I shall have another go at writing a novel. I quite like the idea of a glamorous, long-running saga with wealthy families battling each other.

Writing fanfic - or anything else, for that matter - is a good way of honing writing skills. I think the important thing is to keep writing. I enjoy writing slashy material, I can put a lot of emotion into it. I think that was one of the ingredients which was lacking in the novels I wrote and I guess it showed.

Thanks for your encouragement. I hope your next novel is a real success. Using the Greek gods is a terrific idea, I love Greek mythology. I visited Delphi, Athens and Olympia some time ago and it was wonderful.
