Being Fred and George, they completely would tease Ron about it if they'd noticed. I assume they just never looked at the boring old dormitory while working their mischief--can't think of another explanation.

Though on the serious side, if they had noticed, they could have saved everyone a heap of trouble. Hmm.

I'd have to look up when Fred & George got the map, versus when Percy handed Scabbers off to Ron, but it seems there would have been plenty of time for them to notice Peter's name with either Percy or Ron with suspicious frequency. They probably were looking mostly for teachers who'd spoil their fun, but still, that plot hole would stop *me* cold as an author. If it occurred to me.

That does make sense... but I doubt they were using that map to look at Ron though... They didn't seem to like looking at him much. And by the time they handed it off to Harry, I reckon they didn't use it as much...

Yeah, they were surely looking more often for teachers who'd get in the way of their mischief. Still, it would've given *me* pause if I were the writer and I'd thought of it!

Hmmm. She should probably write a perfected version. Just where she takes things out like about the invisibility cloak being perfect and stuff like that. Just tiny little things without having to change the whole series.
