Book cover and goofy memo

I got the cover art for my upcoming novel Summer Term:



Whew, it's not of the gleaming-torsos/"gimme back my shirt" variety! And it does look like a chick-flick DVD cover, so that conveys the mood pretty accurately. For what it's worth, I did sort of picture Robert Pattinson and Lauren Ambrose as the leads...




...but I understand how they weren't available to be cover models.

(Yes, it does annoy me that I find RPattz attractive and likable even though the Twilight series and fandom annoys me further the more I hear of it.)

What are some examples of book cover art you've loved? Or hated?

In totally "other" news, more evidence that my husband is funny...

At his place of work, they finally decided to throw out an old manual electric typewriter. A slew of facetious emails ensued upon this decision. This was his contribution, in the form of an official memo:

I love the cover art! Yes, I like Mr. Pattinson, despite the fact that this is Twilight, grrr...most of my impatience with the film is K. Stuart, Every time she is in a scene.

This is the first I've seen of Lauren. I have to google her to see what she is in.

Yeah, RPattz is the stronger of the two leads, acting-wise, for sure. (IMHO)

Cover Art is a 'GO'.

Office Supply memo is similar to other such 'generational diversity' seminars I was paid way too much to attend as a member of Sr. Mgmt. Your utility dollars at work...it can be hilarious, but I'm not sure you'd pay for these kinds of laughs willingly :)

Thanks! Yes, such seminars are almost always a waste of time--and thus money. Luckily they were only making such educational comments via email. :)

Lauren Ambrose! I have no idea what she's properly been in, but she was the "played-by" icon face for Susan Bones in a HP RPG I was in a few years ago. Good times. ^_^
