You know, the Twilight trailers look fun and all, but the new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailers look awesome.

I think Half-Blood Prince was my favorite of the books, so I'm excited to see these snippets of scenes.

However, either they added something or my memory fails me. Who's the chick checking out Harry, who Hermione says is "only interested in you because she thinks you're the chosen one"? Doesn't look like Ginny...unless they curled her hair for one scene.

"Children's" lit or not, this would have scared the living crap out of me when I was at the target age. (Admittedly, I was a "sensitive" youngster, but STILL!)

But how perfect is Helena Bonham Carter? .05 seconds on screen, and you can tell she OWNS that part. (And oy is that offspring of hers with Tim Burton gonna grow up straaaaaange...)

It's hard to know how I would have taken it as a kid. We had some weird eclectic viewing material. I'll be curious how it strikes my son when he's old enough to understand it.

Yeah, Helena Bonham Carter is always pretty awesome, even if she's a bit of a homewrecker in real life. They have offspring? Yikes. Strange, yes.

The "Dumbledore surrounded by fire" scene is JUST as I'd pictured it when I read the book.

And the "I am the chosen one - THWACK!" had me laughing out loud.

Harry joking about being the Chosen One is, as people have pointed out, out of character for him--he never liked being the chosen one. But it's still a really funny acting moment by Radcliffe there, for sure. :)

I was going to say Romilda Vane, but of course I've been firsted and seconded, days ago. Is Dumbledore carrying his Gandalf impersonation a bit too far in that second trailer. Albus, I was in the Fellowship with Gandalf; I knew Gandalf; Gandalf was my friend. Albus, you're no Gandalf the Gray.
