mollyringle: (Legolas - do I please you?)

It's all comin' off in a week. My long hair is getting too much of a temptation for the little boy's grabbing phase, and thus too much of a source of pain and complication. Anyway, I look kinda dowdy.

So. Short 'do coming up. I want shorter than a bob but longer than a buzzcut. And actually the underlayers should get buzzed, I think. On the whole there are many variations that would work fine for me, but to help give my hairdresser direction, I need some photos of possibilities. And since I don't have a lot of free time to get online anymore, this is where you all come in. Please post pictures or links in the comments here, of any lady with an attractive short haircut.

We'll start with the very obvious:

Cheers!

Short hair, woo!

Ooh, most famous pixie cut ever! I probably wouldn't need a photo for that--could just tell the stylist "Mia Farrow" and she'd know what to do. :) Of course, my hair would not lie flat and demure like that, so it wouldn't quite work...

My first inclination is to say, given your wavy hair, to do something like Liz Fraser did in maybe '90 or '91: example. You've had similar styles before so you know it will work for your facial features. Or, for something different, you could go for an Edie Sedgwick style (be cutting edge-a bio-pic about her is coming out next year so you would be ahead of the fad)or Natalie Wood?

Ah yes, I should look up more Liz Fraser examples. She has often done the short underneath/longer on top thing quite well. And cool, didn't know Natalie Wood did too. She always looked great, dangit.

Hehe, I think this time, since I know how to groom my eyebrows a bit better, I will not look quite as much like Morrissey as I did with the first go-round (http://home.earthlink.net/~ladyirony/Mozlike.JPG) of a boy-cut. :)

Hahah- I always remember Kevon showing me that photo and I said to him, "Who's the good-looking guy?"

Personally, I will have to keep some length to my hair because I just can't pull off the short-haired look. More power to those who can. Kimma's hair looks quite cute as well (I do envy girls with waves).

Hee hee...I think he must have posted that comment to the chat room, because it sounds familiar now that you mention it. Caused good chuckles all around; though Andrew was more of the opinion that I looked like David Duchovny.

Ah yes, I bet Kimma inspired me in some respect. Though she's lucky to have more and better waves than me, looks like.

Pregnancy's a pointless time to cut one's hair anyway, since it tends to grow like blackberry vines. (Or kudzu, even.) But you might want to be brainstorming ways to get it out of reach for when your little guy starts learning to hang on with tightly closed fists. :)

Morrisseey. David Duchovny. No matter--all in all--decent looking fellows those two. If I were mistaken for a guy, I'd want it to be one who is somewhat appealing. :)

True dat... though in real life I'm much too small to be mistaken for either of them. A member of the Vienna Boys Choir maybe...

Thou art too kind! And as I just mentioned above, your cute hair probably helped inspire me. Will post photos if it doesn't turn out too disastrous. ;)
