mollyringle: (Lost - by damnyellowcap)

A few remarks on "Lost" last night... (yes, there are SPOILERS below, and no, I will not cut-tag it! Hah!)

- Oh man, they're giving Sawyer nerdy glasses. It's like they want me to develop an out-of-control crush on him. Also, I love how they tweak stereotypes just a little for all the characters. Sure, Sawyer's the Southern-criminal-jerk, but he's also the only one on the island who's constantly got his nose in a book. I feel sorry for him in advance, for when the books run out--because, really, they've got to be in short supply on that island.

- The Plane Of Drugs: I'm sorry, but did anyone else instantly think, "Heroin? Boy, they better keep Charlie away from that stash." It's so obvious, I really hope it doesn't become a plot point later on.

- I did laugh at Jack's rude irrelevant questions to Sawyer, but really, they were rude. Very transparent ploy, Jack: "See, Kate, you don't wanna sleep with him. He's had outbreaks." Writers apparently are still trying to cultivate Jack/Kate chemistry, which is still not quite working for me. Though when Jack said, "I didn't do it for him," I heard the subtext loud and clear: "...so choose between us already, bitch."

- Have to say, I won't be totally heartbroken if Boone is the one to get killed off. Will make for good drama, and better him than Sawyer, Locke, Sayid, Claire, Charlie, Hurley, or the rest of the main crew. (Actually, I wouldn't be totally heartbroken if it were Jack or Kate, but we know the writers won't kill them off.)

- No words need be said about the wonderfulness of Locke. His vulnerability only makes him that much more awesome.

- The light at the end...OK, lest we doubted it, this is definitely an island with weirdness of X-Files proportions.

Next week...island turns E.R.! Woohoo!

And not just any books: Watership Down, A Wrinkle in Time...classic stuff, there!

Plane o' Drugs: I did have the same thoughts as you, definitely, But one of my friends, [livejournal.com profile] fatesarchitect, suggested that the plane and its contents weren't the "answer" Locke was looking for, but rather another clue -- the heroin therefore saying "GO ASK CHARLIE YOU BRILLIANT BALD MAN."

Jack/Kate/Sawyer. Ho hum. Bring on the good ship Charlielovesbabymama! :D

I'm with you on the Dead?!Boone thing. Yeah, he's hot, and reminds me of a twenty-something Harry Potter. But he doesn't really contribute a lot.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{LOOOOOOOOOOCKKKKKKKE}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Yep. That about says it all. GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW. :D

"GO ASK CHARLIE YOU BRILLIANT BALD MAN."

Hehe! That would be great, if Charlie turned out to have the key somehow. Just watch: the answer will happen to be buried in the lyrics of Driveshaft's seemingly innocuous B-side, "Soho Stoner Tarts".

And yeah, what was with the complete and total lack of face-time for Charlie, Claire, and half the other characters this episode? Between that and the excessive amount of commercials, I wondered if they'd blown their weekly budget on guest actors or something. And that cool yellow plane. Still--great episode anyway. It's good to venture into these one-on-ones with the characters, especially when they're Locke.

Yeah, he's hot, and reminds me of a twenty-something Harry Potter.
Hee. Boone is cute, but in such a boy-band way that I can't get excited. Or maybe it's the slightly dim intelligence of his character. Now, invite me into the middle of a Sawyer-and-Sayid sandwich, and I'm there. :D

I wouldn't be at all sad to see Boone go. It was either him or Jin for me. In fact, as the plane went down, I was cheering... my mom was looking at me as if I were the incarnation of the devil himself, but I *really* do not like Boone.

Yea, when I saw the plane filled with heroin, I was like... "Keep Charlie away!"

And then when the light came on... I *really* want to know what's going on.

I don't really trust Locke. I absolutely love his character, but he saw the monster and everything... so I don't trust him.

True, I wouldn't be heartbroken if it were Sun or Jin either. They haven't had as much screen time.

Locke is definitely fascinating and complex. I think I trust him, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if he kind of screwed someone over in his own quest. That's the cool thing about the show...everyone is complicated.

Am I the only one wondering why Kate has not already given up all pretenses and succumbed completely to Sayid and his sexeh accent? And hair? (to say nothing of the man's arms, sweet merciful heavens...what? Was I drooling?)

This is true--they had a fully believable Kate/Sayid thing going on, then sort of dropped it; and Sayid moved on to the blonde. He sure is luscious, though. As the Television Without Pity forums put it: Once you go Iraqi, you never go back-y.
