Rolling Stone's top 500

Stole idea from voleuse. Rolling Stone rated the top 500 albums of all time, and I don't know why you'd care, but here are the ones I have:

1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles (My parents have it, actually, but I've pretty much memorized it.)
3. Revolver, The Beatles
5. Rubber Soul, The Beatles
10. The Beatles ("The White Album"), The Beatles
14. Abbey Road, The Beatles (Again: my parents actually...)
17. Nevermind, Nirvana (Used to have it. Think my sister has it now. Have mentioned before that I don't really care for this album, though.)
20. Thriller, Michael Jackson (Had the tape when I was in 4th grade.)
26. The Joshua Tree, U2 (I believe the tape is somewhere in my older possessions. Maybe.)
35. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, David Bowie (OK, actually I don't have this. But I think I've heard all the songs, and I *want* to own it...)
43. The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd (Think my sister has this one now too.)
59. Meet the Beatles, The Beatles
62. Achtung Baby, U2
86. Let It Be, The Beatles (Parents.)
96. Tommy, The Who (Own it? I was IN it! If community theatre counts for anything.)

136. Tim, The Replacements (My husband has the tape somewhere.)
162. OK Computer, Radiohead (Think it's in the glove compartment of the car at the moment, as a matter of fact.)

(Final tally: 38 out of 500.)

Ugh. Pulp's "Different Class" should totally have been on the list somewhere. In the top ten, preferably. (And no Monkees? What?) But then my tastes seldom match the Grammy academy's.

Oh Molly, you don't have #473, A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay? That album really is full of the most incredibly beautiful music.

Holy cow you actually listed the ones you have! That's impressive. I get 35 for me, when I include the LPs of my parents' that I made mine during my LP listening days, but not counting "Thriller," which was there, but I never considered mine, and also not counting the two Richard and Linda Thompson albums, even though I have a 3-disc compilation that probably has a lot of that stuff.

I didn't see any Mel Tormé, Cole Porter or Duke Ellington on their list, but it's late and I may have glazed over...
