mollyringleMovie tip for y'all, especially those who liked 'Velvet Goldmine', 'Priscilla, Queen of the Desert', and/or The Who's 'Tommy':
You must see 'Hedwig & The Angry Inch'. It's kind of a cross between the first two (above-mentioned) movies. Plot: pretty blonde she-male from East Berlin takes up singing career in the States, seducing Kansas boy along the way. I liked it much better than 'Velvet Goldmine', actually, despite the absence of Ewan McGregor. (I wanted to love 'Velvet Goldmine,' but it just wasn't as much fun as it should have been...)
Steve and I fell over on the sofa laughing more than once; plus, the music is actually pretty good; and, for girls of a similar mind to mine, there are a fair number of shots of pretty lads, wet and bare-chested, in smudgy eyeliner and glitter. I mean, really, what's not to like?
