Killing a wee bit o' time...

Writing to y'all from the Linguistics office, waiting for my Phonetics small group to get here. Whee!

So let's see. Thanksgiving weekend; right. Got to see several relatives and in-laws (including kenshi and family), and ate a fair amount of food, naturally.

Also saw Harry Potter #2. Is it just me, or does Parseltongue sound a heck of a lot like the Black Speech of Mordor? Also, Shelob clearly has relatives near Hogwarts. Ahem.

In related news, I bought advance Two Towers tickets! 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 18, baby. My life feels more complete.

And if I get a chance, I'll scan in a picture of the old medieval-ish cloak I found in my closet back at my folks' house. As it turns out, it's oh so very Fellowship. (Especially with the fake ivy leaf I stole from a flower arrangement...) I put it on, and my relatives started singing "Frodo of the nine fingers..." (I apparently am lucky not to know this song.)
